RIT and RPM Workshop

RIT and RPM Workshop – Simulation-Based Learning: May 21-22, 2014

Introduction

This workshop will be a two-day event discussing the learning-by-doing opportunities facilitated by the Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT) and the Rotman Portfolio Manager (RPM) applications and cases. It will be held in the brand new BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab at the Rotman School of Management (http://financelab.rotman.utoronto.ca/).

Agenda

The agenda for the Conference can be found here. The main objective will be to work through a sample of RIT cases in detail – highlighting, for each case, important teaching points, as well as both client and server features that augment the learning experience. Participants will learn how to run the market and change parameters using the server app; as well as how to modify server files to extend or modify cases. There will also be a discussion on how both RIT and RPM cases can be implemented into curricula and the various evaluation techniques.

The sessions on the above mentioned topics will be led by Tom McCurdy (Director of the BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto), Kevin Mak (Director of the Real-time Analysis and Investment Lab at the Graduate School of Business, Stanford University) and Marco Salerno (Manager of the BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab, Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto).

Registration

The registration fee is $ 100.00 and it will cover: lunch, breakfast and dinner as outlined on the agenda. Please note that the registration fee is waived for current RIT and/or RPM Clients (full-time employees only). Also, the start has been delayed on the first day to allow participants to come to Toronto that morning if preferred.

If you’d like to register for the event, please send an email to marco.salerno@rotman.utoronto.ca .
