High School Market Simulation Challenge May 2019

The BMO Financial Group Finance Research and Trading Lab is pleased to present our 7th High School Market Simulation Challenge. This state-of-the-art facility at the Rotman School of Management contributes to the integration of theory and practice by running interactive simulation based sessions and providing students with real-time access to financial resources and databases.

The Finance Lab hosts the annual Rotman International Trading Competition (RITC), a 3-day simulated market challenge featuring 50 competing universities from around the world. RITC is executed though the Rotman Interactive Trader (RIT), an in-house software developed by the lab to reflect the behaviour of financial markets.

The Event

The High School Market Simulation Challenge provides exceptional high school students with an introduction to the field of finance and an opportunity to learn through simulated business scenarios. Students will participate in a morning workshop designed to introduce them to financial markets and the RIT software. In the afternoon, they will have the opportunity to demonstrate their newly learned skills learned through a trading challenge on RIT.
